Trojan Rocking Horse

West Palm Beach, Florida • 16 Jan. — 31 Mar. 2023

An interface between the citizens and city building

Trojan Rocking Horse is a mobile letterbox, designed to gather messages written from citizens to community leaders.

We invite all citizens to reflect upon their living environment and write down their comments and dreams for the future of their city.

Collected messages will become building blocks of further action to make West Palm Beach even better for its inhabitants.

Playfulness + Wisdom

This project utilizes play and curiosity to explore the diversity of culture and wisdom of the local community.

Local children will help design the 8 Trojan Rocking Horse sculptures and once they are materialized, they will go out to the streets of West Palm Beach and mingle with the public, connect with local knowledge and help to embed it in the future of city building.

Participate:

  • / 16 - 21 January 2023 /

The Trojan Rocking Horse project in West Palm Beach is kicked off by 8 art workshops where children from local communities produce inspiration for the design of Trojan Rocking Horse sculptures and first dreams for the city are collected.

  • / 6 -10 March 2023 /

Eight life-sized Trojan Rocking Horses, mounted on wheels, will march down the streets of West Palm Beach, from eight different directions, along pre-determined routes.

Each horse is a moving mailbox, collecting messages from citizens on their way toward the Downtown.
